A Flesh and Blood Blitz Deck is a ready-to-play deck for the Blitz format: 40 cards plus a hero, weapon and equipment cards, according to Legend Story Studios. Blitz is the game’s casual format, using a young hero, exactly 40 cards in the deck and only 1 copy of each card. It is the shortest way into the game.
Flesh and Blood is published by Legend Story Studios, and its official site lists each format’s rules and each product’s contents. This page uses those pages.
What a Blitz Deck contains
Legend Story Studios describes the Part the Mistveil Blitz Decks this way: each deck contains 40 cards, plus hero, weapon, equipment and token cards, with a rainbow foil hero card. The Blitz Deck Collection bundles three decks with three booster packs, a rubber playmat with zones and a storage box, and the maker calls it the perfect product for a new player.

How Blitz works
The official Blitz page sets out the basics:
| Rule | Blitz |
|---|---|
| Hero | 1 young hero card |
| Card-pool | 52 cards, including weapons, equipment and deck cards |
| Deck | Exactly 40 cards |
| Copies | Up to 1 of each unique card, weapons and equipment included |
| Recommended round | 35 minutes, best of 1 |
A card counts as unique if it has a different name and color, so a red and a blue version of the same card are two different cards. Cards must also match your hero’s class and talents, while generic cards fit any hero.

Blitz, Silver Age and Classic Constructed
Flesh and Blood has several formats, and the products follow them.
- Blitz: the casual young-hero format above. The official page says all cards are legal in Blitz as of January 1, 2026, apart from special-use promos.
- Blitz Preconstructed: a separate format that, per the official site, is no longer in use as of January 1, 2026. Its page points players to Silver Age, another young-hero format with 40-card decks and up to 2 copies of a card.
- Classic Constructed: the main format. It uses an adult hero (not a young hero), at least 60 cards and up to 3 copies of each unique card. Armory Decks are the ready-to-play decks for it.
If your local store runs Classic Constructed events, an Armory Deck is the matching starter. For casual games at home, a Blitz Deck is quicker to learn.
Where booster boxes fit
Boosters add cards to customize a deck. For the High Seas set, Legend Story Studios lists 16 cards per pack and 24 booster packs per display, with 1 rainbow foil per pack. Pack sizes differ between sets and languages, so check the set’s product page.

Good to know
A Blitz card-pool is 52 cards plus the hero. Sleeve all of them to the same design: sleeve maker Dragon Shield lists Flesh and Blood among the games its standard 63 x 88 mm sleeves fit. See card sleeve sizes.
Building a card-pool from a Blitz Deck
A Blitz Deck is a complete 40-card deck, but Blitz lets you register 52 cards in your card-pool: the deck, weapons and equipment together. That gives you room to change a few cards between games. The booster packs in the Blitz Deck Collection are there for exactly that, according to Legend Story Studios, which says they “can be used to customise each of the decks.”
When you swap cards in, keep to the Blitz rules: only 1 copy of each unique card, and only cards whose class and talents fit your hero, plus generic cards. A red and a blue version of the same card count as two unique cards, because they differ in color.
What to buy first
- One player learning at home: a single Blitz Deck. It is ready to play, and Blitz games are short, with a recommended round of 35 minutes.
- Two players starting together: the Blitz Deck Collection, which has three decks, three boosters and a zoned playmat in one box.
- A player heading to Classic Constructed events: an Armory Deck, the ready-to-play line for the main format.
Check which format your local store runs before you buy. The official site lists every format’s rules, and a store’s event calendar tells you which one its players use.
